We offer education programmes from the bachelor to doctoral level, in biomedical laboratory science and biotechnology, agriculture and forestry, wildlife management and applied ecology. The faculty's research focuses on sustainable production, use and management of biological resources such as wildlife, fish, forest, cultivated plants and livestock, as well as products and services developed from, and for, biological material. We also conduct research on various human and animal health-related topics through a one-health approach.
Get to know the faculty
The faculty has an international environment, with researchers and students from all over the world. We are located at three different campuses, Evenstad, Blæstad and Hamar.
At Hamar, we offer education programmes and conduct research in biomedical laboratory science and biotechnology, in agriculture at Blæstad, and in applied ecology, wildlife management and forestry at Evenstad.
Researching fertility
With over NOK 60 million, the INN University will try to improve the breeding industry in Norway. Frozen bull semen plays a central role in that.
Following the trail of the bear's secrets
The bear's winter hibernation is a mystery: how can it lie quietly for six months and come out entirely fresh in the spring? Scientists take bears out of their dens to find answers.
The faculty’s education programmes are closely linked to research, and students actively participate in many of our research projects. We are internationally oriented in both education and research and participate in a number of international networks.
We host the research school IRSAE (International Research School in Applied Ecology), which consists of 13 partner institutions and a large number of young researchers. We are also a member of the national PhD school Photosyntech that also boasts a broad international network.
We teach and conduct research according to high international standards, even though many of our research topics are regional. Our projects often address international issues at regional levels.
