Visit from the French embassy

We had the pleasure of welcoming a representative of the French embassy, Andréa Poiret, to Evenstad campus on 16 February (Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management, ALB).

Poiret is project coordinator of the scientific department at the French institute. The French Institute visited Lillehammer in connection with the event "L'Institut français de Norvège comes to your city!" and Poiret travelled a little bit further because she is very interested in projects at Campus Evenstad.

Andréa Poiret learned more about research projects, particularly related to research groups LARGE, WILDCOM, and Forestry Research. The Faculty of Applied Ecology, Agricultural Sciences and Biotechnology has for several decades had cooperation related to research and education with France. Researchers and students participated in useful meetings about how we can further develop the collaboration.

French MA and BA exchange students had the opportunity to meet and talk about their experience at the Evenstad campus. In addition, there are 5 French PhD students who had the opportunity to present their research project.

Researchers and students received information about exchange programs (Åsgard) under the auspices of the science department at the Institut français de Norvège and the Research Council of Norway. She was given a tour of the Evenstad campus, where she received information about Sustainable Building and the history of the Evenstad campus.

We are happy to be able to have good connections and further cooperation with several HE institutions in France.
