Department of Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Physical Education

The Department of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Physical Education, located at Hamar campus, provides teaching resources in kindergarten and primary and lower secondary teacher education, 1-year programmes in educational theory and practice, and the Master in Didactics of Science. 

The department conducts extensive external activities through the continuing and further education of teachers in kindergartens and schools, and conducts school- and kindergarten-oriented research on STEM subjects in the field of teacher education. 

Physical education focuses on body-image pressure, orientation and the youngest children in kindergarten. 

The department consists of 25 employees (24 man-years) divided into three subject areas: 10 in mathematics, 9 in science and 6 in physical education. 

The department has 1 docent professor, 11 in other senior positions, 12 university lecturers and 1 doctoral research fellow.
