Department of Pedagogy – Lillehammer

The Department of Pedagogy, located at Lillehammer campus, is responsible for the bachelor’s programme in education as well as master’s programmes in general education and special needs education. 

Continuing and further education is a key part of the department’s activities and a number of courses and programmes of study are offered. These are either organised internally, through collaboration with the Centre for Lifelong Learning or by external clients. 

In addition, the department provides university college pedagogical courses and courses and supervision on the PhD in Child and Youth Participation and Competence Development (BUK)

The department’s research profile is particularly associated with the areas of pedagogy/special needs education, children and young people and media education. The department also houses the Centre for Media Pedagogy

The department consists of 40 employees (28 man-years) divided into two subject areas: 20 in general education and 20 in special needs education. 

The department has 9 professors, 8 in other senior positions, 13 university lecturers and 10 doctoral research fellows.
