Lockers

The Department of Property Management is responsible for lockers at the various campuses. Arrangements regarding lockers may vary depending on your campus.

More information is provided below regarding the arrangements at your campus. If you cannot find the information you need regarding lockers, please contact the servicepoint/reception.

For Elverum, Evenstad and Rena, you must contact the campus service point for more information. At Blæstad, Hamar and Lillehammer, there are separate arrangements that you can read more about by clicking on the boxes below:

Blæstad

Students are free to choose any locker at Blæstad Campus. Simply find a vacant locker and use your own padlock.

Hamar

Lockers at INN University Hamar Campus are free to loan for one academic year at a time.

Reserving a locker:

Claim a vacant locker by locking it with a padlock and noting the locker number.

Check carefully that the locker is in order.

Deadlines:

Lockers are loaned for one academic year at a time, they must be emptied and cleaned by 30 June each year.

The lockers are available from the start of each academic year of study.

There are not enough lockers for everyone, so the principle of ‘first come, first served’ applies.

Rules for loaning lockers

Disputes over the right of use:
The person who has locked a locker with a padlock has the right to use it over others. Therefore, never remove a padlock from a locker you wish to use. After the loan deadline has expired, the padlocks will be cut and the lockers emptied by the Service/Internal Service Section at INN University, Hamar Campus. The removed contents may be collected from the servicepoint.

The servicepoint e-mail address is servicepunkt@inn.no.

Unclaimed content will be donated to a charity after ten weeks, or discarded. Personal belongings will be shredded/destroyed.

Regulations regarding lockers at Lillehammer and Hamar

Service/Internal Service at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN University) administers the locker regulations that apply to lockers on INN University’s premises.

  1. All students who have paid the semester fee and are registered as a student at INN University may loan a locker.
  2. The storage of all items in the lockers takes place at the borrower’s own risk and responsibility. Lockers must not contain items that are unsuitable for storage in lockers, such as foul-smelling items, food, etc.
  3. If a locker is not locked, it may be taken over by others.
  4. Lockers are loaned for a maximum of one academic year at a time, until 30 June. There are not enough lockers for everyone, so the principle of ‘first come, first served’ applies.
  5. Service/Internal Service at INN University Lillehammer carries out the cutting of padlocks on lockers that have not been emptied by 30 June, or that do not follow the above rules. The locker number is recorded when padlocks are cut.
  6. Everyone must keep track of their locker number.
  7. The contents of lockers that have had their padlocks cut must be collected from the Operations and Maintenance Department at INN University within 10 weeks after the lock was cut. If the contents are not collected within 10 weeks, they can be freely disposed of by INN University. Personal belongings will be shredded/destroyed.
  8. If INN University wrongfully opens a locker by cutting its padlock, the student is entitled to a new locker in a vacant space of their choice if it is not possible to retain their original locker. The padlock that was wrongfully cut is to be replaced by INN University up to a maximum cost of NOK 150.
  9. If a locker has had its padlock cut by INN University and its contents are lost while in the possession of INN University, the owner of the contents will receive compensation up to a maximum of NOK 2000. In addition, general compensation rules apply
