Current COVID-19 measures to continue

The coronavirus measures that were introduced at INN University before Christmas still apply, pending any changes in national restrictions and recommendations.

“The government introduced new COVID-19 measures from 15 December and announced that these will apply for four weeks. Considering the infection situation in society, we have decided not to make changes to our local measures until the government carries out a new assessment,” says acting emergency preparedness manager at INN University, Kari Kjærnet.

Increased digital teaching

From mid-December, increased digital teaching was introduced at INN University, with the exception of students who have to perform experiments in laboratories or other skills training.

It was also decided that written school examination will, for the time being, be transferred to other forms of examination where this is academically justifiable. Self-declaration is now sufficient documentation of sick leave during an examination.

“We cannot yet answer how long these changes will apply. INN University's education committee will discuss the issue next Friday. The institution's central emergency preparedness group will conclude after the government's new assessments are announced next week,” says Pro-rector for Education, Stine Grønvold.

Extensive use of home office

INN University’s campuses are open. This also applies to SINN's cafeterias and bookstores.

At the same time, many employees work from home as a result of the government's order from December. Employees in student-related functions, and employees who must attend the workplace to perform their job, are prioritized for attendance. This is also to be continued until further notice.

“We are concerned with taking care of our employees in this demanding situation. Therefore, we continuously communicate with all managers about their responsibility to maintain a good working environment also for employees who work from home,” says HR Director Lars Petter Mathisrud.
