Coaching is joyful and rewarding but also demanding, volatile, and stressful. Mental health issues are prevalent among coaches, e.g., 39% report depression/anxiety, 19% distress and alcohol use, while organizational stressors can predict depression/anxiety in coaches.
The 2022 SpSS Forum aims to challenge our thinking, approach and practices around coach wellbeing, their mental and physical health, aiming to address the question: “How can we promote, serve, and ensure coach wellbeing in everyday practices?”
National and international practitioners and scholars with expertise on wellbeing, coaches and coaching will join us in person to share their views and critically discuss coach wellbeing and the role of the sport field. It is possible to join physically at Terningen, Elverum, or virtually.
