He is also is the leader of the Research Group for Social Cognitive Studies in Tourism.The research group is particularly interested in the tourism domain for studying cognitive processes involved in peoples’ perception, judgment, and memory of social stimuli; as well as exploring effects of social and affective factors on people’s information processing.
Rouven’s research interests are centered on individual and social factors that shape perceptions and responses to environmental issues, especially in relation to climate change. He also teaches courses on environmental psychology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in addition to supervising PhD projects on the topics of microplastics and sustainable consumption.
He will be giving a talk about climate change perceptions: reflections on the role of scientific information.
