Monica Adele Breiby

Short description

Monica A. Breiby is an associate professor at the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences where she has worked since 2008. Monica has a Ph.D. from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. Her thesis "Nature-based tourism and the role of aesthetic dimensions" was part of the strategic university college project "Innovation in the tourism industry". Monica was postdoc and project manager for a research project within sustainable experiences and regional development. Monica has a master's degree in innovation and business development. She has previously worked as an advisor in the tourism/experience industries, with tasks in project management, market analysis and regional development and innovation processes.

Monica is the program coordinator for the Master in Innovation. Her research topics are sustainable regional development, experience design, user behavior, innovation processes and destination management. She is also head of the Center for Tourism Research, a collaboration between the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research and Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences/Eastern Norway Research Institute.
