The study skills course is offered to all students at INN University. The course is elective but we recommend it for all new students, including those who already know something about study techniques. The course is an open online resource in Canvas, and is available to all students after self-registration.

The course can be completed independently and students can control the pace themselves. It consists of four modules that can be taken module by module as a first step. Later, the material can be used as a reference resource. During the course, students are given tasks and exercises where they can practice their skills or reflect on their own understanding.

Four course modules

The course consists of the following four modules:

  • Module 1: From pupil to student – about goals and motivation, frameworks, planning
  • Module 2: With responsibility for your own learning – about learning strategies, participation in lectures, collaborative groups and community
  • Module 3: Learning strategies – about remembering, reading and note-making
  • Module 4: Preparations for exams – about the period before the exam, assessment forms and exam strategies

In addition to the four modules on study techniques, students also receive an overview of important links and digital tools that can be used in their studies.
