Loan policy

Policy regarding loan at the INN-library.

When users start using the INN-library’s services, they automatically accept the loan policy.

Who can borrow? All students and staff from Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN) can borrow materials at the INN-library. External users may use our collections as well, but will not get extra benefits like inter-library loans.

Responsibility: Patrons are personally responsible for borrowed items listed on their library record.

How long? In general, the loan period is 4 weeks. However, some items may have a shorter loan period (e.g. journals and DVDs). At your Oria/library account you can check the due dates for your loans.

Renewing loans: Materials can be renewed if there is no waiting list. You can renew your materials yourself in Oria.

Recall notice: If you have not renewed your loan, you will get a recall notice. The library sends two recall notices before a compensation claim. Recall notices and claims will be sent via email and/or SMS.

Compensation claim and fee: Lost or damaged materials have to be replaced. Currently, the replacement fee is NOK 700 per item. More expensive materials will have a higher replacement fee. If the loan is returned, replaced with a new item, or paid, the replacement fee is annulled. If you do not return borrowed materials to the library, your library card will be deactivated until you either return the loan, buy a new copy or pay claims.

Please note that once the compensation claim has been sent, the invoice must be paid even if the loan is returned afterwards.
