Reading lists

Reading lists should be available online by start of the semester at the latest. On this web-page you will be assisted in finding the syllabus/curriculum for your subject of study.

Find reading lists for your subject of study

  • Canvas: Your reading list(s) can be found in your course room(s) in Canvas.
  • Subject descriptions: Links to your reading lists can be found via the subject descriptions on the web.
  • Leganto: You may also find your reading lists via Leganto, the reading list system used by HINN. Leganto provides a complete overview of all reading lists at HINN.

Questions?

Can't find the reading list for your subject? Please contact your teacher/course coordinator.

How to understand your reading list as found in Leganto

A Leganto reading list consists of sections and references.
At the top you will see how many references the list contains in total.

Choose "Aktiver seksjonsvisning" to ses which sections your reading list is divided into.

References

A reference describes the different types of teaching materials to be found in your reading list. Most commonly these will be books, book chapters, journal articles and websites. Material type will always be shown at the beginning of each reference.

Click the reference for a more detailed view, and added extra information.

It is important to note what exactly you are supposed to read. Which pages or chapters that are compulsory reading you will see at the top of the window below, described as "Sidespenn" or as "Offentlig kommentar".

How do I access the syllabus literature?

Find out whether your library offers digital access to the book/article, or if it is available as a physical library loan.

Checking availability at the library and ordering books

Your library will have copies available for loan, and copies for on-site use in the library.

Click the reference to see where the book can be found on the shelves, and/or whether there are copies available for loan.

'Lenker & tilgjengelighet' will show you if and where the book is available. If the book is available at your campus, please visit the library and pick up the book yourself. Otherwise you may request it.

How to reserve and order books

Gain access to online articles and digital resources

If a reference is electronically available, the caption "Fulltekst" will be visible.

What if I'm denied access?

Students and faculty members at HINN have access to electronic resources subscribed to by the library, even when using other networks than the campus network.
If you are using a network other than that at HINN, you will be prompted to log on with Feide to gain access to these electronic resources.

How to view reading lists when I'm not a student or faculty member of HINN?
