Change in management at INN University

Per Morten Fredriksen is stepping down as dean of the Faculty of Social and Health Sciences at INN University and moving to another position. The institution's pro-rector for research and development has been appointed as dean.

"I feel that my mandate has been to develop both the research and the study portfolio at the faculty. The changes I have proposed have caused internal unrest and cooperation challenges. I have been asked to resign as dean, and have reached an agreement with the institution to transfer to a position with other duties," says Per Morten Fredriksen.

Fredriksen took up the position as dean at the Faculty of Social and Health Sciences in February last year. Pro-Rector Arild Hovland will take over the dean's duties and responsibility for the faculty from today until the new dean takes office.

"Per Morten Fredriksen is a very capable manager and academic. At the same time, the challenges in the management of the faculty have reached a point where a change had to be made. One party never bears responsibility alone for such a situation. I have nevertheless concluded that the best solution is for Fredriksen to step down as dean. I am happy that he will continue with us with new responsibilities," says Rector Peer Jacob Svenkerud.

The Faculty of Social and Health Sciences has around 200 employees and almost 3,800 students. The faculty's activities take place at INN University's campuses in Elverum and Lillehammer, with further operation at Tynset and Kongsvinger.

The faculty offers health and social studies bachelor's programmes in nursing, protective care, child protection and social work, in addition to physical education, sports, public health and dental care. It also offers a range of master's programmes, year-long studies and shorter courses.

The faculty is responsible for the doctoral programmes Child and Youth Competence Development and Health and welfare.
