“Svenkerud has a solid academic background, significant managerial experience and knows INN University very well. I am sure that he can contribute much to the further development of the institution, and to us meeting the goal of achieving university accreditation,” says board chair Maren Kyllingstad.

Extensive managerial experience

Peer Jacob Svenkerud is currently dean at Inland School of Business and Social Sciences, which is one of the INN University's faculties.

He has previously been dean at Hedmark University College, and has held managerial positions in Telenor, Norsk Tipping and several other companies.

“The majority of the board concluded that Svenkerud is the best candidate for the position. He has solid experience as dean at the institution, combined with managerial experience from private business,” says Maren Kyllingstad.

“With a doctorate in organisational communication, he will help make INN University more visible and be a unifying rector for the entire institution,” she continues.

Large-scope responsibility

The new rector will have the daily responsibility for INN University's operation and development.

This means responsibility for close to 1,200 employees, 16,000 students and an annual budget of just over NOK 1.3 billion.

Seven applicants applied for the position, but one of them withdrew the application.
