Public defence: Ida Syvertsen

Ida Syvertsen defends her doctoral thesis in the PhD-program Teaching and Teacher Education at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences on 28.02.2024.

The title of the dissertation is: «Forced migration and English capital. A critical sociolinguistic analysis of English among Congolese refugees in Norway». 

The evaluation committee consists of:

  • First opponent Professor Nico Nassenstein (Johannes Gutenberg-Universität, Mainz, Germany)
  • Second opponent Professor Anna De Fina (Georgetown University, USA)
  • Committee chair: Associate professor Kristin Vold Lexander (INN University, Norway)

Chair of the public defense: Professor Lise Iversen Kulbrandstad.

Candidate's main supervisor has been Professor Guri B. Steien (INN University). From 1.1.2023 has Professor Marte Monsen (INN University) been main supervisor.
Co-supervisors: Professor Gjertrud Flermoen Stenbrenden (INN University) og Professor Bernadette O’Rourke (University of Glasgow, Scotland).
