Emerit-forum at LUP

The Emerit Forum at LUP is a meeting place for retired academic staff who wish to continue their research and development work. The forum will promote community between the emeriti, strengthen cooperation between the emeriti and the research administration, HR and the library and offer an interdisciplinary academic meeting place.

In the autumn of 2022, some of the emeritus met on the Hamar campus for a series of informal talks to discuss current issues related to the emeritus status. Here they also presented their research and development projects to each other.

In the new year 2023, representatives of this discussion group contacted the research administration to explore the possibilities for a stronger institutionalization and visibility of the emeriti at LUP. In collaboration with the research administration, a start-up meeting was arranged on 4 May where all registered emeritus at LUP were invited and representatives from HR and the library also participated.

This meeting was the first step towards the institutionalization of a separate forum for the emeriti. Every year at the beginning of May, a meeting will be organized where emeritus and incoming emeritus can meet the research administration, HR and the library, share information and discuss current issues.

The creation of a dedicated website is an important milestone when it comes to making the emeriti visible.

Last but not least, the emeritus forms an exciting interdisciplinary academic forum where both the emeritus and other active researchers can present and discuss their research and development projects.
