What we research
The research group Technology for Health and Physical Activity has the vision to promote the population's health through the use of technology. Technological tools will be an integral part of our projects as an instrument for measuring health and as an instrument for health-promoting lifestyle change.

Purpose
- To bring together researchers and academic staff across faculties who are concerned with technology for health and physical activity in order to facilitate high-quality research and scientific production in this field, and thereby also increase competence at INN University.
- To create a strong academic community for the use of quantitative methods that can involve students interested in the field and contribute expertise to other researchers.
- To create a strong scientific environment that can support professionals at various levels in their career development as well as involve both internal and international master's and master's students on exchange.
- To strengthen collaboration with other institutions and external researchers.
- To strengthening the scientific profile and increasing the proportion of staff with a high level of research competence.

- Autonomic dysfunction and heart rate variability among people with fibromyalgia
- Exploring the underlying mechanism of VR-based simulation as a pedagogical tool in education and training of non-technical skills among health professionals in mental health care.
- Virtual nature experiences as a supplement in the treatment of moderate depression
- GO GREEN ROUTES - Resilient Optimal Urban natural, Technological and Environmental Solutions (Horizon project)
- Go Green Next – a comprehensive evidence-based oriented approach model to convey how ecosystem health and human health are connected (Horizon project)
- VR & green exercise 2.0 - Developing and testing mental health-promoting VR systems: a pilot study connected to a H2020 ‘Mental health in the workplace’ proposal
- Lifestyle and body composition - a study investigating possible lifestyle changes and its relation to weight and body composition in first-year university students
