Welcome to INN University, Campus Evenstad.

The INNstart program for students is tailored to focus on Evenstad and social happenings. It is the perfect time for you to get to know your fellow students.

The Orientation Day will provide relevant information regarding your exchange in Evenstad, but in-person attendance is required as it will not be streamed nor recorded.

Some practical information

Semester registration, course registration and education plan:
You will use StudentWeb for semester registration, course registration and confirmation of your education plan. In your first semester, all courses are compulsory and we will do the semester registration and course registration for you. All you need to do is to log in and confirm your education plan. In subsequent semesters, you will have to register for each semester and individual courses in StudentWeb. Deadline for registering for courses in the autumn semester is 1st of October, and the deadline for the spring semester is 1st of March. StudentWeb will be available from 1st of July.

Master’s in applied Ecology is a full time on-campus study program over two years, taught at Campus Evenstad. The study focuses on putting the science of ecology into practical use by applying ecological concepts to environmental problem solving, policy and management. 

In the first year of the program, you have 4 mandatory courses (M), and you can choose from 7 elective courses (E) to add up to a 60 ECTS academic year. You can read more about the courses in the study plan here

•    Concepts in ecology (M, 7.5 ECTS)
•    Study design and statistical modelling (M), 7.5 ECTS)
•    Human impacts on ecological systems (M, 15 ECTS)

Spring semester: 

•    Human dimensions in ecosystem management (M 7.5 ECTS) 
•    Population monitoring using radiotracking (E, 2.5 ECTS)
•    Multivariate statistics in community ecology (E, 2.5 ECTS) 
•    Analysis of spatial animal data (E, 2.5 ECTS) 
•    Population monitoring using Capture Mark Recapture (E, 2.5 ECTS)
•    Population monitoring using Distance Sampling (E, 2.5 ECTS) 
•    GIS (E, 7.5 ECTS) 
•    Applied Wildlife Ecology (E, 15 ECTS)
