Boreal Forest and Wildlife Management

Would you like to learn more about the boreal forest ecosystem, and how we manage forest and wildlife? Together with other exchange students from all of Europe you will get the chance to discover the Nordic boreal landscape and learn more about the interaction between human, the environment and nature resources.

About the Programme

Sustainable use and management of natural resources are not any longers of national, but of cross-boundary concern. Regarding global impacts such as climate change, you will, as a future manager of natural resources, as a scientist or as a teacher, need an international approach. Combined with your higher education studies in any greenfield, this program will help you to widen your horizon and to improve your understanding of natural resource management.

Practical information

The study is a full-time basic study at the bachelor level extending 4 months consisting of 30 ECTS credits. The study is given each fall (from mid-August to the end of December). The study may be used as part of a bachelor or master degree.

Application deadline and admission

These courses are available only for exchange students coming from our partner institutions. To enter the study it is required that;

  • the student can confirm to have fulfilled at least one year at a university or university college within the fields of wildlife biology, biology, ecology, evolution, forestry, agriculture, environmental sciences or likewise,
  • or have achieved a bachelor degree in such sciences. 

Contact the International Coordinator at your home institution to find out if you are eligible for exchange studies at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN University). Please notice that applications can be submitted for one campus only.

Nomination deadline: April 15th.

Further education opportunities

Boreal forest and wildlife management is useful for students that are planning a master degree in ecology or related subjects. The program can be combined with Ecology and Evolution (30 ECTS) or Practice in Applied Ecology (15 / 30 ECTS).
