About the Programme
The subject is based on health and welfare within four scientific perspectives: health sciences, social sciences, public health sciences and sport sciences. The spotlight is on the appropriateness and consequence of applying different perspectives and approaches. The subject also thematizes health and welfare related to interdisciplinarity, research ethics, user involvement, gender perspective, health skills and sustainability goals.
The course combines lectures, group work, own presentations, and self-study. Own PhD project is challenged and must be reflected on considering the topics in the course. This is intended to contribute to the development of the fellows' interdisciplinary and multidimensional understanding of the design of projects, issues, methodological approaches, and the knowledge that emerges.
The subject ends with an individual home exam consisting of an essay in which own project is discussed in the light of different perspectives on health and welfare.
The course takes place at Elverum or Lillehammer, and participation and attendance at the classes is compulsory.
