About the Programme

The subject illuminates central scientific theoretical positions, various methodological perspectives and ethical considerations in research. Furthermore, we go through various qualitative and quantitative methods, and how the methods can be combined (mixed methods). The subject is important for choosing, justifying and considering the scientific theoretical position, methodological point of view, research method/s and research ethics in your own PhD project. 

The course takes place in both Elverum and Lillehammer, and participation and attendance are compulsory. Teaching will usually take place in Norwegian, and if necessary in English.

Week 41: October 7 - 11

Week 42: October 14 - 18

Admission requirements:

Applicants must have a MA-degree (120 ECTS), or being registered as a PhD-student.

The course has limited intake capasity, and priority will be given to PhD candidates who follow an individual education plan where this particular course is included, or for employees at higher education institutes.

PhD candidates at HINN do not need to upload documentation of education.
