About the course
The course is an internship program, where you can work on the current research projects running at the Faculty of Applied Ecology and Agricultural Sciences, and gain experience with different methods in research in applied ecology. Each student should stay a minimum of 2 months. At the end of the stay, the students write a final report, describing what they have learnt during the internship.

Stays between 8-12 weeks generate 15 ECTS, while stays over 3 months generate 30 ECTS.
Application deadline and admission
Practice in Applied Ecology is a program that is offered throughout the whole year. However, the number of available seats depends on the number of ongoing research projects and their need for data collection and analysis.
To enter the study module it is required that the student can confirm to have fulfilled;
- at least one year at a university or university college in the world within the fields of wildlife biology, biology, ecology, evolution, forestry, agriculture, environmental sciences or likewise,
- or have achieved the bachelor degree in such sciences
Contact the university's exchange coordinator or international office to find out if you are eligible for exchange studies at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN University). Applications can be submitted for one campus only.
Possible requirements
Some Research Projects have special requirements for their Fieldworkers like driver's license or skiing abilities. There are usually more seats available during spring and summertime.
How much does it cost?
Free for exchange students. Free movers must pay the semester fee of approx. 1000 NOK.
Further education opportunities
Practice in applied ecology is useful for students that are planning a master degree in ecology or related subjects. This study program can also be combined with Boreal Forest and Wildlife Management (30 ECTS) or Ecology and Evolution (30 ECTS).
