About the Programme

The subject of study elaborates and analyses the meanings of the concepts of interdisciplinarity and user involvement and what these concepts mean for professional activity and research in the health and welfare sector. It brings up challenges and opportunities for involvement in a life course perspective and for user groups with different level of functioning and various degrees of social belonging. The basic question is the role of experiental knowledge within an interdisciplinary approach.

Power, communication, co-determination and democracy are crucial topics being covered in the course, along with political and organisational regulations laying the premises for a variety of acting individuals, and with a particular focus on user involvement.

The course combines lectures, seminars, group activities, presentations and self-study. The final part of the course is a home exam in the form of an individual essay.
