Kort om

I am a PhD candidate at the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. In my PhD research, I am working on the Rapid diagnosis of bacterial infections and antimicrobial resistance genes in blood samples (sepsis) using nanopore sequencing.

Due to the severity and mortality rate of the disease, rapid diagnosis of sepsis-causing bacteria is important. In sepsis patients, antibiotics should be prescribed as early as possible, preferably within one hour of the onset of symptoms. Unfortunately, the current diagnosis methods for sepsis are slow and time-consuming. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop new methods that can rapidly and effectively diagnose sepsis. We are working on methods to reduce the time needed to diagnose sepsis.
