Mathieu Lacroix er en kanadisk komponist, produsent, musiker og programmerer bosatt i Norge siden 2010. I musikken hans, prøver han å sidestille elektroakustiske og akustiske tradisjoner sammen for å skape relevant samtidsmusikk. Han er interessert i hvordan å få musikere og datamaskiner til å kunne tolke hverandre innenfor den klassiske tradisjonen. Verkene hans har blitt framført på tre kontinenter i over tolv land. Han jobbet med Trondheim Sinfonietta fra 2017 til 2023, og ble nestleder og medlem av kunstnerisk råd. Han har også dannet Elektroakustisk Trondheim med Frank Ekeberg. Han er medlem av Electric Audio Unit – Nordens ledende ensemble for elektroakustisk musikk og spatialisering - med Natasha Barrett og Ernst van der Loo. Han er medlem av NyMusikk Komponistgruppe og var på styret 2021-2022.

 

Han har studert og jobbet med komponister som Michael Obst, Natasha Barrett, Kaija Saariaho, Maja S.K. Ratkje, Markus Reuter, Trey Gunn, Hans Tutschku, Jaime Reis, Ståle Kleiberg, og flere andre. Som produsent og lydtekniker har han jobbet med alt fra klassiske ensembler til dødsmetallband. I 2022 ble han ferdig med sin doktorgrad i komposisjon og analyse på NTNU som har inkludert studier ved IRCAM i Frankrike og Musiques et recherches i Belgia.  Han har undervist blant annet på NTNU, Nord Universitet og Hochschule Ansbach. Han er også regelmessig jurymedlem for diverse komposisjonskonkurranser og priser.
