Short description

Elisabeth is a PhD Candidate on the project "Life with autism: Quality of Life, daily functioning and compensatory strategies from childhood to emerging adulthood". The project is a part of The Lillehammer Neurodevelopmental Follow-Up Study, LINEUP, which is financed by the Innlandet Hospital Trust.

The aim of this project is to explore how autistic emerging adults experience their lives, and what they describe as important for leading a good life. We want to gain insight into what functions well in their lives, and what contributes to that. We also want to reveal their needs for support, both in their family, but also in educational institutions, workplaces and healthcare institutions. We want to gather information about the use of compensatory strategies, as this could be helpful in daily life for some, but at the same time demanding, and for some exhausting. To explore all this, we have done in-depth interviews with a sample of emerging adults with autism.
