Short description

Laura Létourneau Tremblay is an Associate Professor at Inland Norway University of Applied Science. She completed her PhD in law at the University of Oslo/Pluricourts focusing on how international investment tribunals have dealt with environmental concerns in investor-state disputes. She also holds a Master of Law Degree (LLM) in public international law from the University of Oslo and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Université Laval (Québec, Canada). She is associated as research fellow with the Earth System Governance network, the Chair on New Challenges of Economic Globalization (Canada) and the Department of Public and International Law of the University of Oslo. She is also consultant for the World Trade Institute (WTI) in Geneva.

Research

Laura's research focuses on international investment law, compliance with investor-state disputes and reforms of the investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS). She is particularly interested in the interactions between international investment law and environmental and climate change policy making, and on innovative and critical perspectives for analyzing international investment law.
