The research group has the following ambitions:
- The group aims to be a significant disseminator of high-quality qualitative research within educational science perspectives on physical education, physical teacher education, and bodily learning, both nationally and internationally.
- The group intends to conduct research for and with the field of practice both in schools and the higher education sector.
- Building on research-based knowledge about physical education and physical education teacher education, the group aims to be politically engaged at HINN (Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences) and in society at large.
- The group strives to be a central player in the educational and sports science environments at HINN.
- Through its research activities, the group aims to contribute to research-based education at HINN.
- The group is committed to expanding its research networks nationally and internationally.
- The group aspires to be a great place to work.
What we research
In TLPE, we are concerned with issues related to teaching and learning in physical education, physical education teaching, and bodily learning. The aim of our research is to contribute to knowledge development that can enhance practice, for the benefit of both school students and students in education.
More about the research group
In addition to publishing in scholarly channels, we also aim for our research results to reach the general public outside of academia. Therefore, we regularly communicate our research on the blog kroppsøvingsforskning.no. Our posts are often published on forskning.no as well.
Conferences and events
The research group has also organized an annual method conference focusing on qualitative physical education research. In 2018, the theme was action research. In 2019, the focus was on observation as a method, and in 2021, we emphasized the analysis of qualitative data. The theme for 2022 was "From idea to international publication in physical education. The conference is currently on hold.
