Each year, a variety of courses are offered. Some are open to external as well as internal candidates.

Courses that are open for registration:

  • B.31 (2PRLU20-32) Inclusive and equitable education in light of newer theories from indigenous research (4 ECTS). The course is taught in English and has a physical seminar in Kautokeino at Sámi Allaskuvla on 24 - 26 September 2024, and a digital seminar with presentations later in the autumn semester.   • B.6 (2PRLU20-30) Writing for publication (2 ECTS). The course is taught in English, and consists of a week of physical workshops in Hamar from 21 - 25 October 2024. The course is targeted to PhD candidates who are interested in developing their academic writing for publication. Responsible for the course: Professor Rune Hausstatter, Inn University.   • BUK4015 Introduction to Critical Realism (3/1 ECTS): In this interdisciplinary PhD course, we present and discuss the philosophy and meta-theory of critical realism. The course is developed in collaboration with the International Association of Critical Realism (IACR), in connection with the IACR international conference in Lillehammer 2018. Responsible for the course:  Associate professors Lene Nyhus, Leigh Price and Eirin Annamo, Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, Department of Pedagogy, Lillehammer. Location: Lillehammer. Type of seminars: Both digital and in-person. Dates and times: May 15th and 16th, 2024. More information here.

  • B1B (2PRLU20-26). Pedagogy diversity as a lens (6 ECTS). Responsible for the course: Professor Hanne Riese. The subject runs as three two-day gatherings from June to December 2023 with gatherings in Lillehammer.

  • B.24 (2PRLU20-24) Digitalization and practices of inclusion (2 ECTS). Responsible for the course: fSubject responsible associate professor Kristin Vold Lexander. Lecturers: Associate Professor Jessica Hansen, Østfold University College and Professor Jim Cummins, University of Toronto. The course is taught in English and has a physical meeting in Hamar on 27–28. September 2023. More informatioon about the course here.

  • B28. (2PRLU20-27). Multicultural pedagogy in kindergarten, school, and teacher education (2/4 ECTS). Responsible for the course: associate professor and postdoctoral fellow Jonas Y. Iversen in collaboration with, among others, professor Hannah Ragnarsdóttir, University of Iceland/HINN. The course is in English and consists of digital collections via Zoom. An additional goal is to contribute to professional fellowship between PhD scholars from PROFF, the University of Iceland and other Norwegian and international educational institutions working on the topic of multicultural pedagogy.   • B29 (2PRLU20-28). Theoretical Perspectives on Professionalism and Teacher Education in Early Childhood. (4 ECTS, elective). Responsible for the course: Professor Camilla Eline Andersen in collaboration with Professor Jayne Osgood, Middlesex University, London /HINN. Dates to be announced. The course is in Norwegian and English and combines meetings in Hamar with Zoom. Use the registration form here. More information here.

  • C1 (2PRLU30-1). Research methods in professionally oriented teacher education subjects (6 ECTS). Responsible for the course: Professor Lise Iversen Kulbrandstad (qualitative part) and associate professor Espen Stranger-Johannessen (quantitative part). The course will be taught in English in autumn 2023 with four two-day sessions in Hamar.

  • C2 (2PRLU30-2). Qualitative methods with an emphasis on interviews and action research (4 ECTS). Responsible for the course: Professor Lise Iversen Kulbrandstad. The course started in June and runs with a mix of online and physical collections at Hamar autumn 2023.

  • C6 (2PRLU30-7 / 2PRLU30-11) Research methods in studies of literacy and literacy teaching  (2/4 ECTS). Responsible for the course: Professor Lise Iversen Kulbrandstad in collaboration with Professor Christina Olin-Scheller, Karlstad University/HINN.
